Here is a painting of my grandson Harry I've just completed. The original photo was taken when he was checking to see if it was time to leave for a day at the zoo. Such concentration - I just had to paint it!

The kitchen is in the workroom.

My poor workroom has become a makeshift kitchen, ready for the work to begin on Monday. Quilting stuff needed next week is now in the car and I'm busy making a list of things to take with me when I disappear off the scene till the worst is over. Lucky me - it was my husband's idea...... really! the kitchen didn't look quite as bad as this but half of it is now on the lawn!

Missing - one oven!

It's been a few days since my last blog 'cos our kitchen is being ripped out to make way for a shiny new one. I can't wait for the old 70's pink painted horror to be replaced by a streamline state of the art white with grey "granite" vision of beauty. One small problem though - the built in oven which should have arrived yesturday with the order has gone astray! funnily enough, no-one seems to know anything about it and since it was ordered in January, we find it all rather strange. A progress report will follow - when we get any progress that is!

I promised another doll and here she is - Gertrude, the slightly weathered fairy. I'm sure you will agree, she is quite monstrous but oh what fun to make, especially when I pulled in her facial features and this horrendous expression imerged - i have to admit that she reminds me of someone but I dare not say who! The pattern is one of Jill Maas designs and can be found on www.jan-horrox.com along with hundreds of other designs by equally talented designers.

Just had to try uploading a photo before finally closing down for the night! I discovered doll making about a year ago and Esmerelda the funky fairy was my first. she's a bit rough round the edges but was so enjoyable to make. I used a pattern out of Creative Cloth Doll Making by Patti Medaris Culea. Will post more tomorrow.

Never thought I'd be doing this

It was a snap dicision and now. suddenly and much quicker than I imagined, I'm a blogger. How exciting is this and me a grandmother, someone who isn't supposed to know about these things. I can't say I understand how the whole thing works but I've been intrigued and impressed by blogs I've read by fellow crafters so now I've joined!
It's a day off tomorrow so instead of hopping about from one foot to another, waiting for the electician to put in an appearance, I'll be here enjoying this new experience.
'Night 'night.
